Jen Jeglinski Ceramics

Before I was designing and building websites, I was a ceramic artist. I made and sold work at craft shows, online, and in galleries. My ceramics business is actually what got me first interested in graphic design and then web design.
I needed to create a logo, business cards, signage, and a website. As a starving artist, I could not afford to hire a designer. So I learned how to do it myself.

As my design business got busier it became more difficult to find the time to focus on my ceramics. Recently, I reinvigorated my love affair with clay. After the long break, working in clay again has proven to be therapeutic and a much welcome balance from all of the screen time.

As I approach my work after such a long time away, I am finding that I am experimenting to see what feels right. I am using different clay and making new forms. I am working on the wheel. It feels very freeing to work in this way after having made work production style for so long.

I will share my progress and possibly sell some of my new work. Stay tuned!

PAST WORK

Below is a selection of some of my favorite pieces from nearly two decades of working with clay.

Home

My work is primarily functional. My hope is that my tableware become everyday objects instead of pieces that are on display.

Garden

My first body of work after college was in terracotta clay. I focused on planters to embellish the home and garden. My interest in planters continued after I made the switch to a white stoneware clay.
